Steel & GritFIELD TOOLS

Mobile app support

Version 1.0.0 · iOS and Android release in preparation

Steel & Grit Field Tools brings lookahead planning, constraints, daily logs, manpower, punch items and meeting actions into one offline app.

Contact support

Email thomaslsaylor@gmail.com with your app version, device model, operating-system version and a short description of the problem. Remove confidential project details from screenshots and attachments.

Move or protect your records

Open Settings → Export backup to save all projects as a JSON file. On the other installation, open Settings → Restore backup and select that file. Restoring replaces the destination's existing records after confirmation, so export its current backup first. There is no automatic device synchronization.

Use Export CSV inside a tool to share its complete record list with a spreadsheet application. CSV files are for reporting; use the JSON backup to restore app records.

If data will not open or save

Do not uninstall or clear the app before protecting your records. Reopen it, check available device storage, and export a backup if the app opens. If an error remains, contact support with the exact message. The app does not keep a server copy of your project records.

Capacity and crew calculations

The initial version supports up to 20 projects, 500 records per tool and 1.8 MB total local record data. Export and remove older work when approaching the limit. Person-hours equal people × hours per person; create separate crew entries when people work different hours. Closing a punch item requires verification; closing a meeting action requires a closeout note.

App availability

The mobile app has not yet been released in the App Store or Google Play. Store links will be added after approval. The Excel toolkit sold on the main website is a separate product.
